- Ride For Goals,
our summer 2005 charity event, is still helping our partners. Patrick
James, son of Sonya Fitzpatrick, rode his bicycle
from Los Angeles to New York, promoting better care
and understanding of animals needs, and raising money
to support GOAL's objective of providing critical care
for rescued animals. Thank you for your support and
donations. Contributions are on their way to
sanctuaries like Mr. K's in Houston whose rescued cats
were seized due to the lack of proper medical care and
documentation. GOALS was there to help. We are
currently working with Wilma to re-rescue her cats. We
need your support. When sanctuaries rescue animals,
and they don't have the funds necessary to comply with
local regulations - regular checkups by veterinarians,
etc. - organizations like the SPCA seize those animals
and they are euthanized if they are not adopted.
Sanctuaries were created to keep these types of
tragedies from happening. And yet, the tragedies go
on. Please take a moment to make a contribution and
save some animal friends.
